MOIVES
BLUE (2017)
I served as Production Designer and Costume Designer for this movie based on a true story about recovering after attempted suicide. I also created my own graphics. Each day I would arrive early to set the scene and prep wardrobe, getting sets ready often at the same time I was getting actors and extras into wardrobe.
I worked on a $1000 budget, came UNDER budget, and still managed to create a look with which my director was very pleased. For three weeks, I never had so little sleep and so high stress, but it was an amazing experience and I was so happy to have shared in the journey. And I received multiple compliments that even though the crew knew my workload, never once did I take my stress out on anyone. It's doing very well in fests, and I'll release more photos as it goes public.
LEGACY: A Legend of Zelda Fan Film (2016)
I served as Production Designer on my passion fantasy project. I broke out my dusty Japanese language skills and researched the fictional Hylian language. I created and procured most of the props and got my hands dirty creating a few sets with some help from our small team. Our biggest project was building railings made of branches and rope on our forest bridge and gathering up as much moss as possible and relocating it to our central set piece. I also created concept sketches of costumes and closely oversaw the creation of each, also creating the Sheik costume myself.
I cannot display photos of a lot of work because they are still unreleased locations or props.
The Do Over (2013)
I served as Set Decorator on this contemporary Catholic romance. With such a small crew, I worked through all stages of the production, from planning, buying, building/painting, and finally arranging the sets. We had four sets, the bedroom, living room, and two offices. The office sets where filmed on the same day, but being 20 years apart in the story, five of us repainted and redressed the entire set while cast and crew took a break. Under pressure, I am pleased to say that the entire turnaround only took us 1 hour 17 minutes. A very exciting production from a design standpoint, and I'm very pleased how it all turned out in the end.
The Tribunal (2013)
I served as Set Decorator on this contemporary Catholic romance. With such a small crew, I worked through all stages of the production, from planning, buying, building/painting, and finally arranging the sets/locations. I worked with the same crew from The Do Over on this film. We had two sets, a bedroom and apartment living room, which we had a one night turnaround from bedroom to living room. The rest of the film was filmed on location in a church and owned living spaces. The location living and bedrooms, we cleared out and brought in 70% of our own pieces to dress and (with permission) rearranged what remained of the owner's furniture and decorations. I was very impressed by this team and our collective work ethic to make this film look fantastic.
The Nameless Cryst (2011)
With this feature film, I stepped up as production designer when my previous designer stepped down due to schedule conflicts. I thoroughly planned all the sets, scouted locations, bought props and supervised wardrobe and SFX make-up. I worked with a set designer and small crew to construct the sets, then painted and dressed them. We worked with a very small budget of things pre-owned, bought, and donated, and came up with these amazing sets for somewhere around only $5000. Needless to say, I am immeasurably proud of the work and the small crew that helped me realise this vision.
